Not so American but German is “Manhattan Gold” boutique in Düsseldorf. The owner picks up original pieces of jewellery, purses, clothes, and then even more jewellery from all over the world. These bracelets are wonderfully imaginative. I have the one with the cactus in the desert and the red and black “party time” theme which is an ode to the ’50s and Audrey Hepburn-style chic. The actual shop can be found at: Citadell Strasse 27, Düsseldorf, literally around the corner from the banks of the river Rhine.  Better call the shop before you go because I found it closed at odd times: (tel: +  49 211 5560388). From the same place as the gold fish tank, these earrings amused me and were part of a really funky Scandi design shop in Vejle, Denmark.
